I do have a blog

I am sitting in my office trying to study for this weeks classes and sermon.  I currently have an industrial vacuum thing giving off a high pitched hmmm.  I am going absolutely CRAZY.  It’s loud enough that I can’t hear myself think, so I thought I could write and think at the same time.

So here is an update.  To much has happened since my last blog that I will give you this week.  Sunday night…I hit a deer… in Donna’s car.  There is nothing like a Pontiac.  We were coming in from the Goud/Fowler farm when 3 deer’s came jumping out of the ditch on the driver side… I slammed on the brakes (Lauren says the car went up in the air) deer one and two jump in front of the car….whooo a miss.  But little deer number three was not so lucky.  I knocked him back into the other lane closer to the ditch, it twitches for a bit and then jumps off and runs away.  I get out and look at the damage thinking this is going to be bad…. nope not for Pontiac.  It takes a licken and keeps on ticken.  After a visit with SGI yesterday afternoon the initial cost projection was $1000 which is all covered by my package policy.

Last night Donna and I worked at putting in a hanging ceiling in our basement laundry room/bathroom.  It was fun to do with Donna, but I had so many cuts to make to allow for different height levels and making everything level was not fun and I am pretty sure I have cuts and little metal slivers in my hands, which are not fun either.

Today I come in to the office and vacuum.  The good news is that after 30 min it has finally stopped. I now it is time to get some work done.

I Went a Little Crazy

images.jpg

Yesterday was fun.  After the game Kurt and I thought it would be fun to go to the Airport to welcome the team home.  It was a little crazy I know, but man was it fun to be there.  Here are some pictures.

You Might Be a Redneck

Do you remember Art Linkletter & Bill Cosby’s show “Kids say the darnedest things”?  We live that show everyday with our kids.  For example, lately we have been going out to the Goud/Fowler farm not far from Moose Jaw, where Brett has revived our joy in shooting.  Lately we have been shooting a lot of things, but mostly skeet’s.  Recently the kids have been helping by releasing the skeet’s.  So on Sunday after church we gathered at Bonanza with the usual church crowds.  We told the kids we were going to go out to the farm for the afternoon .  At that point Ella yelled at the top of her lungs “ARE WE GONNA GO SHOOTIN”.  Yes many tables heard it and many people were laughing, some were not.  Jeff Foxworthy would be proud and maybe have awarded us our sign!!!

What To Write

Okay, I know it has been a while.  Especially when Brett makes fun of me on his blog, and Kurt makes fun of me on my blog.  The question posed was “Can minister really have that interesting of a life?” How should I answer that?  I mean really, I have always had problems answering questions asked by a high school teacher and a probation officer. I guess the answer is it depends on what you find interesting.  Here is what we have been doing for the two months since I last bloged.

The Kids
Lauren and Ella are both in the French Immersion Program at Palliser this year.  With schools restructuring in Moose Jaw last year, the French program was moved to our neighbourhood school.  We figured we should give it a shot with Lauren.  She is only in Grade 1 so thought now would be a good time.  While we were doing that we found out that they had a pre-school program that Ella could attend.  Ella gets to go to pre-school on Tuesday and Thursday morning.  I was sure this was a good idea until they came home and I realized they were speaking a language… that I don’t.  This might be a problem when the girls are older!!!

Calgary Weekend
We went to Calgary in mid-September to visit Jae, and the family.  It was alot of fun.  I would love to show you pictures but we forgot the camera (and the battery life is about 1 picture, which I am now convinced is a camera problem).  We went to Calaway Park on Saturday and the girls had the time of their life.  Lauren was brave beside Maddy and went on rides that I figured were too much for me.  Ella had blast wit the rides she went on, those were easier rides for me to go on but Donna was always offering to take her.  On the Sunday we went church, had lunch with dad and Gerri, and then spent the next 2-3 hours in IKEA.

Okay that is enough for tonight.  Plus after two months you need to break back into it slowly.  I also turned 33 in September, bed time is now earlier.

A Month Later

Okay, what to say a month later.  We went to spend a few days with Mom, Todd, Michelle, Ireland, Jae, Maddy, Pres, and Lacey in the middle of July.  It was a good time.

Last week we were at the camp for grades 2-6 week,.  24 kids is enough.  I know the counsellors were warn out.  As much fun as it was for the kids Ithink the staff had more fun after the kids went to bed.  The worst part of the week was the heat, a 38 degree day at the camp with humidity is almost too much.

Some of the guys rewarded ourselves for surviving camp by going to the Rider game yesterday against the Eskimos.  Not too often we beat Edmonton by 40 points.  It was worth the price of admission.

Next week we are going to the Elford Reunion.

That is all I got for now.
